The FPFK Muhoroni Peace Resilience Program, supported by the Norwegian Pentecostal Mission( Pinsebevegelsen )operates under FPFK’s Social Ministry to address cross-border ethnic conflicts in Kenya’s Muhoroni and Kilgoris clusters.
The Focus areas include; Borders of Kisumu, Nandi, Kericho, Narok, Kisii, and Migori counties and the Conflict driver is Historic inter-ethnic tensions among Kipsigis, Nandi, and Luo communities.
Key Strategies
1. Target groups: Youth “warriors,” women survivors, and children—breaking cycles of violence by challenging myths and prejudices across generations.
2. Community collaboration: Partnered with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and Pamoja for Transformation Trust to jointly tackle insecurity and mediate disputes.
Landmark Achievement
In response to the long-standing Sondu border conflict, FPFK convened governors and county assemblies of Kisumu and Kericho, culminating in the “Kendu Bay Declaration.”
This peace agreement, signed by both governors, bound county leaders to concrete actions for lasting stability.
Recognition:
Through persistent grassroots engagement, inclusive dialogue, and formal peace accords like the Kendu Bay Declaration, FPFK emerged as an unmatched champion of peace; earning a peace medal, plaque, and certificate during the International Day of Peace celebrations on Sunday, 21 September 2025, in Kisumu City.
