Empowering leaders, transforming communities

The FPFK Church for Community Transformation (CCT) Project, under the Resilience Program supported by PMU, on 3rd and 4th September 2026 conducted a highly successful and deeply impactful 2-day intensive training at the Ilasit FPFK Church!

The event brought together the Southern Region Regional Council, pastors, and church leaders—including vibrant women leaders—all united for a common goal: driving sustainable, community-led socio-economic transformation.

The training completely blew past our expectations! Originally planned for 20 participants, the event drew unexpected leaders on Day 1 who eagerly pleaded to join Day 2, describing the sessions as a massive “eye-opener.” In total, 28 passionate leaders attended, eager to transition from traditional ministry to holistic community transformation. Participants warmly embraced the project, noting that this is exactly the approach the church has been missing, and pledged their full support.

Equipped with practical skills to identify locally available resources, the participants didn’t just listen; they acted. They have already mapped out their community assets and developed a concrete Action Plan for their neighborhoods.

Demonstrating true servant leadership and a commitment to being change agents, the group made an incredible pledge. After learning during the CCT training that the Shompole Magadi area—one of our core resilience project sites—lacks an FPFK church to support the upcoming Anti-FGM Project, the participants stepped up.

They have committed to contributing iron sheets and their own local resources to build a brand-new FPFK church in the area! This initiative will directly anchor and uplift that vulnerable community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, partners, and leaders for making this event a monumental step toward building self-sustaining, thriving communities.
